Virginia Tech’s Rector Center Renovation
The Miller Sports team took on the multi-sport renovation within Virginia Tech’s Rector Center. This includes a major track reconstruction, adding a Throws Area for field events and an Indoor Softball Facility. We are lucky to announce our involvement, installing the flooring, equipment, and light fixtures for these areas!

Track & Field Reconstruction:
Miller Sports Construction was proud to partner with Virginia Tech to install the new field house surface. The Miller Sports team installed a 200-meter, Super X 720, Mondo-surface, banked track. The honeycomb design provides ultimate shock absorption and return contributing to reduction of fatigue and injuries. This Mondo track consistently rates as one of the fastest tracks in the country! The men’s and women’s track and field teams hold their home meets inside of Rector Center, it serves as the winter home for the track program.
Fitness Flooring:
Explore the latest enhancement at Virginia Tech’s Rector Recreation Center – the newly added Throws Area. Executed by the Miller Sports team, this project encompasses the renovation, construction, and installation of a fitness flooring section designed specifically for weighted throws and shot put activities. Notably, inlaid platforms featuring custom VT logos have been strategically placed to provide cushioning and minimize the impact of weights.
Softball Turf Field:
Witness the remarkable transformation of the Softball Facility at the school, courtesy of the Miller Sports team. Our installation includes a cutting-edge indoor turf field designed to elevate performance. This superior, long-lasting, and durable surface not only enhances the playing experience but also contributes to injury prevention by minimizing impact. As part of our comprehensive service, we have also provided top-notch sports equipment, including batting cages.
